Baking has always been my passion... Especially since I was blessed with two beautiful boys Yaman and Yalin. My grand mom and my mom have always prepared great food for family and friends, as I grow up in a small city called Bandirma in the west of Turkey. I learned cooking starting with my mom's and my mother in laws recipes. My husband, Murat, has a great taste; he always helped me improve over the last 20 years we have been together.
In 2008 we started travelling around and living in new countries due to Murat's work. This gave me a chance to learn different food cultures and harness them with my own Turkish recipes. First we lived in Russia, then moved to China and recently we moved to US.
I have done multiple corporate jobs, as an engineer, as a marketeer, as a school manager,... None of these I tried has really became my passion. I enjoyed cooking and baking above all. Since I moved in US in 2018, I had a chance to meet many new friends. They have been very kind and kept telling me how much they like my bakes and encouraged me to share my recipes with more people, extending family and friends. This is how I decided to start #BakedByBerna...
